To recognize numbers and to understand their relationships, we use Ten Town. This method, representing a character for each number, enables us to use numbers in practical contexts, to talk about numbers in everyday life and begin to make logical deductions about these numbers.
Like Letterland, the children’s participation is extended with a variety of supplemental activities such as songs, rhymes, stories and art & crafts activities. We have found that this method gives children the best opportunities for effective mathematical development.
